All of the top-players are finishing their pre-season preparations as January is coming. That means, that first Grand Slam of the season is behind the corner and players need to be in the best shape possible.
2019 Champions Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka already confirmed that they will be playing in Melbourne also during 2020 Season. Confirmed players include Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Ashleigh Barty or Simona Halep.
This year, players will share a record prize money of A$71 milion. Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley spoke about the prize money when he said: "We have long been committed to improving the pay and conditions for a deeper pool of international tennis players, in fact since AO 2007 prize money has more than tripled from $20 million to the $71 million for 2020 we are announcing today."
