The 19th edition of the Qatar Total Open takes place next week, gathering a rock-solid field of players at one of the season's finest WTA 500 events.
The Major champions Ashleigh Barty, Simona Halep, Sofia Kenin, Bianca Andreescu and Iga Swiatek have all decided to withdraw from Doha, leaving the notable top-20 players chasing the crown. Elina Svitolina is the top seed, sharing the top quarter with Victoria Azarenka, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Elena Rybakina and Amanda Anisimova.
The defending champion Aryna Sabalenka is the third seed and the top-ranked player of the second quarter, facing Belinda Bencic, Maria Sakkari, Veronika Kudermetova and Garbine Muguruza en route to the semis.
The Australian Open finalist Jennifer Brady is the 7th seed, leading the third quarter with the 2018 champion Petra Kvitova and a former finalist Angelique Kerber. Kiki Bertens kicks off the season after a nasty injury and surgery, seeking the semi-final spot in the bottom quarter against another former winner and the 2nd seed Karolina Pliskova.
