The highest level of tennis returns to Qatar in 2021 with the Qatar Open running from 1st till 7th of March with an overall financial commitment of over 500.000 $.
The event which started in 2001 returns for the 19th time in 2021 with a strong field of players who will all fight it out for the prestigious trophy. Many notable players have won the trophy over the years with the defending Champions being Aryna Sabalenka. She will be returning to this event in order to defend her title and she will face stiff competition despite Barty and Halep pulling out of the event.
Despite the top two seeds pulling out of the event, there is still a strong field of play with the top seed being Elina Svitolina closely followed by Karolina Pliskova and Aryna Sabalenka. Some other notable players attending are Petra Kvitova, Kiki Bertens, Belinda Bencic, Victoria Azarenka, and Australian Open finalist Jennifer Brady.
