Bianca Andreescu will head into Wimbledon after being defeated with ease by Spaniard,
Rebeka Masarova on Tuesday evening.
It was a 6-3, 6-2 win for Masarova who swept aside Andreescu in just over an hour who reached the final at Bad Homburg last year.
Masarova was never broken in victory and continues her superb 2023 after making a maiden final in Auckland at the turn of the year.
In seeing off Andreescu, she produced seven aces including on set point in the opener.
She broke for a 3-2 lead in the second set with a backhand winner and took the remaining games crushing the spirit of the Canadian.
Liudmila Samsonova is through and wasn't upset by Linda Noskova with a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3 clinching a Quarter-FInal spot. She produced 16 aces on her way to victory over the 18-year-old who emerged at the turn of the season.
