16-year old MIrra Andreeva is among the early winniners at Roland Garros cruising in her first qualifying match past Polina Kudermetova 6-3 6-1.
The Russian announced herself to the world at the Madrid Open a few weeks ago beating some notable players before beating beaten. She's back to winning and it comes in Paris at Roland Garros as part of the qualifiers. It was a good start, a rather easy win for her and a comfortable launch to her grand slam career.
She has demonstrated a good enough level to advance to the main draw but she'll need to win a few more matches. Wins over players like Beatriz Haddad Maia in Madrid certainly prove she has what it takes to and today's win further hammers down that point.
