A few weeks after battling with Krejcikova in Dubai and losing, Aryna Sabalenka produced a really sturdy effort to defeat the Czech player in three sets 6-3 2-6 6-4.
Both of them play rather similarly as they love to attack and have rather flat groundstrokes. Krejcikova seems to have a bit more precision as opposed to Sabalenka who prefers raw power over everything. The Belarussian dominated in the first set taking an early lead which snowballed into a 5-1 lead.
She finished off the set 6-3 largely by keeping a high win percentage of points played after her first serve. The second set was played much better by Krejcikova who found a good rhythm and hit her way to an early lead. From there she largely rode the confidence wave to win it 6-2 and force a decider.
The final set was largely decided by Sabalenka and her serve because she was excellent. Aces, service winners and just dominance after her first serve. She won 83 % of her points after the first serve hitting six aces as well. She faced only one break point in that final set and saved it. These crucial points ultimately meant a lot for the outcome of the match.
