Ashleigh Barty and Barbora Krejcikova played a great match that ended with Barty winning it and move on to the quarterfinals 7-5 6-3.
Two French Open winners faced off in the 4th round of Wimbledon on Manic Monday and it was Ashleigh Barty who came out on top. The Australian did not have a good start as she lost her serve early. Krejcikova was able to maintain that lead for a while but Barty found a way to come back.
The Australian was very aggressive and that aggressive ultimately yielded results with Barty winning the opening set 7-5. She committed more errors than Krejcikova but also had more winners which proved crucial.
The 2nd set was a proper battle as both players had break points early but neither was able to convert them. A bit later it was Barty who found the breakthrough taking a 4-2 lead. Krejcikvoa would pull it back immediately to make it 4-3 but failed to convert it and Barty once again had a 5-3 lead.
Krejcikova was just a little bit off the whole match and never really foudn a rhytm in this match and proved too much to overcome. Barty saved a break point in the final game of the match and closed it out with 6-3.
