Although the grass court season is still a few months away, some WTA players have confirmed their participation at the 2023 bett1 Open this summer in Berlin.
A WTA 500 event, the bett1 Open will be held from 17-25 June and is one of the few grass events on the calendar. Last year's edition saw
Ons Jabeur take the title after defeating
Belinda Bencic in the final.
Although Jabeur is yet to confirm her participation at the event, the defending champion is expected to be present. Nonetheless, Swiss star Bencic has been announced as one of the competitors, alongside France's
Caroline Garcia and Czech veteran
Petra Kvitova.
The bett1 Open features a 32-player singles field and a 16-team doubles event, and is often used as a tune-up event for Wimbledon.
