Billie Jean King Cup Finals fate decided for US, Great Britain, Poland as draw confirmed for Seville

The draw has been confirmed for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals which will take place between 12-20 November in Seville with the fate sealed for the US, Great Britain and Poland among others.
Previously held in a round-robin format, the Finals will now be a straight knockout competition over the eight days of action meaning no second chances for some of the big names involved. Defending champions Canada, Italy who were finalists, Czech Republic and Australia have all been handed byes through to the Quarter-Finals.
But when it comes to other countries such as US, Great Britain, Poland and Japan, they will play from the very beginning. The former who will likely be led by at least Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro, if not Coco Gauff and Danielle Collins too will face Slovenia. The best draw for any nation based off ranking. Like the Olympic team, it will be interesting to see who gets in the team with Lindsay Davenport having a selection headache if all players want to be involved. But with the WTA Finals typically taking place around that time, it will also be a decision for the top stars.
Leylah Fernandez' Canada who could feasibly also have Bianca Andreescu back by then will aim to defend their title against potentially Great Britain in the Quarter-Finals who open up against Germany likely with Angelique Kerber involved. The former will have Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter likely leading the way and after their stunning win over France in the play-offs, they will aim to continue that form. Spain who host the tournament don't get it easy as they face Iga Swiatek's Poland who despite likely playing in Riyadh will most definitely anchor her country. The winner of that tie face Czech Republic. Japan v Romania could see Naomi Osaka and Simona Halep collide. The winners face Italy.

- Having spent weeks and weeks through the years on tour, I can say with confidence that Conchita was (is) one of the very few who realize the surprising level of maturity (and sometimes lack of) which Mirra seems to have developed in such a demanding adult world of Pro-Tennis. While at the same time reminding herself (Conchita, that is) that Mirra is still young and developing mentally and physically. The general public may forget at times, or not at all realize, these modern era young athletes do not have a 'normal' Youth. It's a major sacrifice, among countless sacrifices, these athletes must make. People who blow-off that fact are ignorant and unfair when they blurt out, "They choose fame so they have to put up with the intrusions on their lives". No, they do not.
