Coco Gauff sees roots for good performance in pre-season training

Still only 16-years-old American talent, Coco Gauff kicked-off her 2021 season with a victory at the Gippsland Trophy in Melbourne.

Coco Gauff is one of the most-watched names at all of the tournaments for quite some time already. Now, the 16-years-old sensation entered the 2021 Gippsland Trophy with victory over Jil Teichmann in three sets. The match was decided by a tie-break in the third set and players spent more than 2 hours and 45 minutes on the court.

After the match, Gauff spoke about what gave her enough power to finish the match in the third set and set up a second-round clash against Katie Boulter. If she will succeed against the British player, she can possibly face Naomi Osaka in the third round again.

"It was definitely a challenging match I feel like for both of us," said Gauff. "This (second) tiebreak, I was just focused on making her play. All the training I did in the off-season meant that I could go three tough sets."

Coco Gauff will play also on Tuesday and you can follow the match with the TennisUpToDate Live Scores by clicking here!
