Coco Gauff will have a chance to do what Barbora Krejcikova did last year by winning both the singles and doubles titles at Roland Garros.
The American played will take on Iga Swiatek in the singles final and will play together with Jessica Pegula in the doubles finals. The duo scored a victory against compatriots Keys and Townsend today in Paris to secure the final. Their opponent is not known yet as the 2nd semifinal is still to be played. The duo has been playing doubles tennis for a while so they play very well together.
Both have had excellent clay season as well so generally, they have been in strong shape. In this event, it's been largely good play that has propelled them so far and that should continue in the final as well. Today was a very solid match overall. They did just enough to win the match not having to work too hard. They won over 80 % of their first serves and despite some struggle on the 2nd serve, they saved the only break point they faced.
In the 2nd set, they had a chance to close it out at 5-4 serving for the match but despite battling their way back from 15-40 in the game and getting a match point they lost the game. Eventually, they got to the tiebreak where they proved better once again for the final score of 6-4 7-6(4). Neither has ever won a grand slam event and Gauff will have a chance to make it a double.
