The Czech Tennis Federation has found itself embroiled in a scandal after its headquarters were raided, with president Ivo Kaderka among 10 people charged with fraud.
The individuals involved have been charged with subsidy fraud that involved millions of crowns/korunas - the currency of the Czech Republic - that were initially for tennis and youth sports organisations in the country.
Police have said Kaderka, financial director and accountant Hana Baierova and board member of a Czech sports association Vojtech Flegl are all key figures in the alleged fraud.
A spokesperson for the country's National Sports Agency told Radio Prague International: "At this point I can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation.
"We have been asked to provide information and documents and are cooperating fully with the police in this matter. However in view of the fact that the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide any details relating to the case."
Czech players have enjoyed success on the court in recent times, notably
Marketa Vondrousova winning Wimbledon in 2023 and
Karolina Muchova reaching the final at Roland Garros.
