The
World Tennis League line-up has already changed ahead of December 17-20, 2025 when the yearly exhibition tournament takes place with
Elena Rybakina not playing after all.
It seemed like perhaps a bit of an undertaking for the recently crowned WTA Finals champion who is due to play Shenzhen mere days after the World Tennis League takes place.
It is not yet certain whether Rybakina will still play in the tournament that also includes Iga Swiatek on 26th December. Either way she will still play going into the new year as she is currently also signed up for the Brisbane International which is the first week of the new season.
Svitolina joins husband Monfils in line-up
Elina Svitolina will make a trip to India before she plays the ASB Classic in the first week of the new year and this replacement makes sense given her husband Gael Monfils plays in the event.
Denis Shapovalov also replaces
Arthur Fils who will not play either. As a result it is Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Paula Badosa, Rohan Bopanna, Gael Monfils, Sumit Nagal, Magda Linette and Marta Kostyuk have signed up as well as those who have been added to the line-up.
The WTL have also added the likes of Yuki Bhambri, Ankita Raina, Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, Maaya Revathi, Dhakshineswar Suresh and Shivika Burman to the tournament for local representation. The event sees the Falcons, Hawks, Eagles and Kites with players facing off for their respective teams. The draw is not yet complete.
