Britain’s tennis star
Emma Raducanu has hinted at a
potential return in the upcoming
US Open.
The fourth Grand Slam of the year is set to begin in less
than 20 days' time in New York where players from all over the world will
participate to secure the ultimate glory.
The 20-year-old has struggled with fitness concerns in the
recent past which has kept her out of two of three Grand Slams this year.
However, in positive news for her fans, Raducanu hinted
that she might return to the court for the upcoming US Open.
In an Instagram story, the Toronto-born stated: "Brushed
the dust off this one today, Progress pixxxx!”.
The news will be a great one for the world of tennis as well
as the fans of Raducanu who would be eager to see her return to action as soon
as possible.
The young tennis star broke onto the scene in 2021 during
the US Open where she won the title after beating Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in
the final with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
That victory was an even more special one considering that Raducanu
started the competition through a qualifying stage.
This year, she has only taken part in the Australian Open
where she faced a defeat in the second round to America Coco Gauff in straight
sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6.
