Emma Raducanu's endorsement portfolio has taken a slight hit albeit more on the benefits she receives than the actual partnership. Porsche have taken away her prized car which she has often been seen driving to practice.
Raducanu was a teenager when she became a global brand ambassador for Porsche a few months after her triumph at the US Open in New York. She was later seen driving a 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet which she described as a dream as a child growing up. But she now has been left in the lurch as it has been taken away as per the Daily Mail.
'Whenever I would turn up to practice in the morning I would see his Porsche,' she said. 'I would go, 'Wow!' and be dreaming of one day sitting in my own.'
A Porsche spokesperson said to the paper that she was no longer in possession of said car and they loaned it her on an ad-hoc basis only. They said they were 'very happy' with their relationship with the Brit and she remains an ambassador. But perhaps given that her star has slightly faded since her US Open win, they took the decision that it no longer is a need for the brand for her to drive such a car.
'Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022,' they said in a statement. 'We are very happy with our partnership.'
But with the potential for this partnership to end, it could have a knock on effect on her playing the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for instance. Albeit given her profits thus far in her company, she won't struggle to get another car but perhaps after getting used to driving it, it is a kick in the teeth for her.
She is currently World No.54 and has recently been injured again after starting out by targeting the Asian hard court swing. But it has ended up more of a damp squibb in a situation that perhaps sums up her season.
