The WTA 500
Pan Pacific Open will host its 40th edition, is one of the WTA’s most traditional events. It will be played from October 20 to 26 and will be the last WTA 500 event of the year, marking the final stage of the Asian Swing and the season for several participating stars.
The tournament boasts a history of champion former World No. 1s and Grand Slam winners, including Martina Hingis (5 titles), Lindsay Davenport (4), Maria Sharapova (2), and Caroline Wozniacki (2). The defending champion is none other than Paris 2024 Olympic gold medalist
Zheng Qinwen, who won her first title in this category a year ago.
The tournament will feature four Top 10 players and up to 12 players inside the Top 20, likely making it the last event of the year to bring together this many major stars. Headlining proceedings include Paolini and Rybakina who will be locked in a tight battle for a spot in the WTA Finals, for many, securing these final points can mean an increase in the end-of-year bonus pool for those fighting to enter the Top 10 or the Top 30—positions that carry a financial boost at the end of the year.

Predictions
Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees it being subject to who turns up.
For me it depends who turns up. It'd be easy to say Rybakina or Paolini as the field dwindles but both might not play. Also murmerings of Mirra Andreeva playing so in reality who knows.
Naomi Osaka, Jessica Pegula and Emma Raducanu not playing throws it up in the air but it is still a quality line-up over the next week or so.
