First half of 2022 WTA Calendar confirmed until Wimbledon

The calendar for the first half of the 2022 season in the WTA has been confirmed which covers the Australian swing through until Wimbledon which concludes in July.
It will all kick off in Australia with the Adelaide International and two further tournaments in Melbourne being staged on the 250 level.
In Week Two, the Sydney Tennis Classic takes centre stage alongside the second Adelaide International all to give players match practice ahead of the 2022 Australian Open.
February sees a WTA 1000 in Qatar as the main highlight alongside the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and further tournaments in Mexico, Lyon and St Petersburg on the WTA 250 and 500 level.
This ahead of only two tournaments in March albeit two of the biggest in the form of Indian Wells back to its usual slot and Miami which will happen back-to-back both carrying WTA 1000 billing.
April sees the usual shift to clay ahead of Roland Garros with Charleston, Bogota, Stuttgart and Istanbul all hosting tournaments before Madrid and Rome back to back.
This all leads into Roland Garros heading into the last week of May and ending in June where Nottingham will begin the grass season.
Tournaments in S'Hertogenbosch, Berlin, Birmingham, Bad Homburg and Eastbourne will headline a busy June ahead of Wimbledon with further dates to be confirmed post the third Grand Slam heading into the US Open.
