As was previously revealed, WTA World No.1, Ashleigh Barty will not be taking part in this year's US Open; she is the main big name casualty from proceedings.
One of the main talking points though come from multiple players in the top ten including Simona Halep who herself looked set to skip the US Open also due to Coronavirus fears; but at least for now, she is in the entry list.
There were also doubts on the likes of Bianca Andreescu, the defending US Open champion who is now in the field. The 20-year-old Canadian has failed to build on her brilliant run twelve months ago; mainly due to injury.
Having a knee injury at the WTA Finals, she has not played since then with Coronavirus curtailing her return to court. The pressure will still be on though; as she returns to court in one of her first tournaments; since her brilliant win over Serena Williams.
Currently the next players not to be involved are Qiang Wang who was previously announced as withdrawing; as well as Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in 30th; with organisers not guaranteeing her health and safety according to her Instagram.
Barring that all top players are currently involved provisionally; as the countdown continues to Flushing Meadows.
