Garbiñe Muguruza has been introduced as the new ambassador for Tennis Channel and will be the TV face of the global tennis-dedicated multiplatform. The former world No. 1 had already been collaborating as a commentator, particularly on WTA broadcasts in Spanish.

The two-time Grand Slam champion will serve as a presenter for exclusive content starting this year on Tennis Channel Spain. Muguruza will make her debut in this new role at the WTA 1000 Doha Open this week and will continue covering the rest of the WTA 1000 tournaments of the season, as well as the WTA Finals.

Muguruza strengthens Tennis Channel partnership as new global ambassador

"Throughout my playing career, I have witnessed the birth and growth of Tennis Channel in the United States. They were there for some of my most special moments—when I won Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the WTA Finals in Mexico. They are a key part of the global tennis circuit, and I’m thrilled that they thought of me for their expansion into Spain."

In 2024, Muguruza served as the tournament director of the WTA Finals in Riyadh, where Coco Gauff claimed the title after defeating Zheng Qinwen in a thrilling final. Her performance in this role left a positive impression on the WTA, as did her work as a commentator throughout the year at various events.

"We are a country of great champions and passionate tennis fans, so I hope that with Tennis Channel’s arrival, we can present the sport that has given me so much in a more modern, engaging way. I’m confident that, through our exclusive content, fans will gain a deeper insight into professional tennis," Muguruza stated. "It’s a spectacular opportunity, and I’m eager to get started."

Muguruza will also co-host a soon-to-be-launched podcast and will travel early to Miami to take on a key role in the days leading up to the tournament, conducting exclusive interviews.

"After working with Garbiñe last year, we couldn’t be more honoured to expand our collaboration with her and introduce her as Tennis Channel’s ambassador," said Andy Reif, Senior Vice President of Tennis Channel International. "She is a great champion who knows how to win on the biggest stages and generously shares that insight in her commentary."

"But beyond that, her curiosity, perspective, and passion for the sport are incredibly engaging for fans worldwide, and we’re excited to see her take on interviews and other activities in her new role with the channel."
