Coco Gauff will pull double duty this evening and has sealed the first part of the equation at the BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells.
Gauff's opening singles win came against Caroline Garcia as she had to withstand a tough challenge from the Frenchwoman lasting the distance in the end.
It was a 6-3, 6-7, 6-1 win for Gauff who is making her debut in the California based tournament and will now continue the doubles equation with Leylah-Annie Fernandez in just over two hours time.
Gauff sealed the first set with a 6-3 triumph claiming it with an ace of 121 mph as she took to her debut in the desert well.
Set two was a lot less clean cut with Garcia finding her way back into the tie going 3-1 up breaking Gauff's serve and surviving three break points in a 19 point game.
Gauff found herself back into the set taking a break back only for the duo to exchange them all the way to a tiebreak which Garcia breezed through 7-2 to send it all the way.
A closely fought second game saw Gauff edge through and claim a break at 2-0 up before surging ahead into a 4-1 lead.
The resistence of Garcia was seemingly finally broken as Gauff surged to another break to make it 5-1 before easing through her serve to claim victory 40-15.
