Halep to take on Andreescu in possible National Bank Open quarterfinal

The National Bank Open in Montreal will take place next week and Simona Halep might face Bianca Andreescu in the quarterfinal.
In a fun exercise done by the social media team of the National Bank Open, Simona Halep is projected to take on Bianca Andreescu in the quarterfinal. The projected quarterfinals have been set by filling out the event bracket logically. That means that ever higher-ranked played would defeat the lower-ranked player.
It rarely happens in real life but according to that fun exercise, we might get some mouth-watering quarterfinals at the Masters event next week. One of those would be Simona Halep taking on Bianca Andreescu. Both players endured very tough 2021 seasons and both are out of form.
It would be a very satisfying watch considering the playstyles of both players. Another interesting one would be Kvitova vs Svitolina. The Bronze Medallist from Tokyo played Kvitova earlier this year in Miami and Svitolina was able to win that match.
Another one would be Karolina Pliskova taking on Garbine Muguruza while the final one would be Aryna Sabalenka taking on Victoria Azarenka. Meanwhile, Azarenka picked up an injury in Washington so it remains to be seen what will happen there.
