The ATX Open Austin will hold its 4th edition from 23 February to 1 March 2025, to be played at the Westwood Country Club in Austin, Texas, United States. The tournament will be the last stop for some top players before the start of the Sunshine Double – with Indian Wells and the Miami Open as the next major challenges.
The draw will be led by defending champion Jessica Pegula (world No. 5), the only top-10 player entered in the tournament and the main favourite to repeat her crown. Back in 2025, she won the 7th title of her career – and her first of the season – defeating her compatriot McCartney Kessler in the final, comfortably, 7-5, 6-2.
Joining the draw will be the teenage sensation Iva Jovic (No. 19), 18 years old, who will make her tournament debut and will be the second seed in the draw. Jovic will be one of the big names in the tournament and another local player seeking to take advantage of the home conditions to establish herself before the Sunshine Double. The 2025 runner-up Kessler and Peyton Stearns, as well as 2024 runner-up Xinyu Wang, will also participate.
Who will particularly steal the spotlight is 7-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams, who received a wildcard from the organisers and will return to the courts once again. The former world No. 1 – now 45 years old – is expected to attend in the following weeks at Indian Wells and Miami, although invitations from the organisers are still to be confirmed.
Other Grand Slam champions will join, following the confirmation of the presence of 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, and 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko – both after receiving wildcards from the organisers.
