Hubert Hurkacz had an excellent week in Metz at the Moselle Open winning both the singles and doubles titles without dropping a set, something last done in 1991 by Guy Forget.
Hubert Hurkacz won his 4th career title at the Moselle Open in Metz completing a great week that he will remember for quite a while. The Polish player played excellent tennis all week long winning both the singles and doubles titles. While winning both titles at the same event is being done from time to time, Hurkacz added a special twist to his run which ensured his name in history.
The Polish player did not drop a single set in his singles title run and also in his doubles title run. The last time that was done was in 1991 when Guy Forget did it. So Hurkacz did something that hasn't been done on the ATP tour for 30 years.
A truly amazing achievement that was done also in France as was Forget's. In 1991 Forget won the singles and doubles titles in Strasbourg which is actually not far from Metz. Whether it's due to geography or tennis skill remains to be seen but Hurkacz ensured his name on the list of players who had this amazing achievement.
