Canada’s tennis star
Eugenie Bouchard has revealed that she
was asked to hangout by famous singer Justin Bieber.
The 30-year-old has remained in the news, most than her performances
on the court, largely because of her off-the-court activities.
Bouchard, while talking on a TV show recently, revealed
that she was once asked by her icon Bieber to hang out after playing a charity
match with him but she refused as she had a boyfriend back then.
"We played a tennis match for charity, and he asked me
to hang out later,” she said. “but I had a boyfriend, so I said no. And I
believe I deserve the Girlfriend of the Century Award."
Bouchard recently became the most high-profile player to
openly announce that she will stay active, both in professional tennis and in
pickleball as well.
The Montreal-born had
a difficult time on the court recently as she has not played in a Grand Slam
since 2020. Her last appearance in the main round of a major tournament was the
French Open in 2020 where she was knocked out after losing in the third round
to the current world number one in the women’s singles category — Poland’s Iga
Swiatek — in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
