Naomi Osaka is more than just a tennis player, as she has several other interests that range from activism to fashion. However, the Japanese superstar also seems have recently developed an interest in cryptocurrencies.
The defending
US Open champion spoke with
Bloomberg in a recent interview, and revealed that her interest in cryptocurrency spiked with the popularity of Dogecoin.
“As athletes, our career isn’t that long, and so I just like being very smart with it,” said Osaka.
The World No.3 added that the explosion of interest in Dogecoin on Twitter caught her interest, so she was aware of its potential even before her agent spoke to her about investing in cryptocurrencies.
"I like when my agent tells me there’s opportunities," added Osaka. "And in a weird way, I like to fail a little bit because it makes you understand what didn’t work and why.”
