"I saw my darkest and brightest days this year" says Coco Gauff as 2023 season comes to a close

Tennis phenom Coco Gauff may have seen her season come to an end at the WTA Finals in Cancun, but the American remains positive and confident ahead of 2024.
Following her loss in the semifinals at the WTA Finals, Gauff took some time to reflect on her 2023 season, a year where she achieved several personal milestones.

Despite the ups and downs, Gauff ends the year with head held high

The 19-year old took to social media to give her thoughts following a tumultuous season, stating she was proud of everything she achieved in 2023.
"2023 is season officially over. hard to sum of this season in a few words. I saw my darkest and brightest days of my life this year. I am proud of myself. God’s plan," tweeted Gauff.
Gauff ended the season ranked as the World No.3, capping off an impressive year on tour. The Atlanta native won achieved three firsts during the summer, starting with her first WTA 500 title in Washington. She followed this by winning her first WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati, before culminating her impressive stretch with her maiden Grand Slam victory at the US Open.
The American prodigy would end the season at a career-high ranking of World No.3, enabling her to qualify for the year-ending WTA Finals, where she fell in the semifinals to compatriot Jessica Pegula.
