"Incredibly grateful and fortunate" - Wozniacki on her career and battle with illness

On April 5, former World No.1, Caroline Wozniacki said goodbye to tennis for one last time by playing Angelique Kerber in Denmark.
After the match, the 2018 Australian Open winner thanked all of her fans for an incredible reception. In the latest Instagram post, Caroline Wozniacki talked about how grateful she was for playing the game of tennis despite suffering from a rare disease called Rheumatoid Arthritis. It’s a disease that causes pain and swelling in our bones and joints.
In 2018, she was diagnosed with this disease. Earlier, on Instagram, she talked about it, as she felt nostalgic about coming back to the tennis court.

Earlier, the Danish player played her final match at the Royal Arena in front of a packed stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark. In that match, Wozniacki showed that she didn’t lose a single step, as she beat Angelique Kerber 7-5, 6-4 in straights sets.
After the match, she tweeted a video of her amazing victory and wrote,
“Wow! There are no words to describe Tuesday night! Thank you to everyone who came out to support, it meant so much to me! The atmosphere was absolutely incredible!! Also thank you to @AngeliqueKerber for a great match!”
