Former World No.2
Paula Badosa recently announced she was targeting a return to tennis at the
Canadian Open, after being on the sidelines for some of the 2023 season.
The Spaniard had been recovering from a spinal stress fracture, which forced her to pull out of the French Open in June. Prior to her injury, Badosa was posting favorable results, including a semifinal showing at Adelaide in January and quarterfinal appearances in Rome, Charleston and Stuttgart.
Badosa aiming to resume competition at Canadian Open in August
The 25-year old held a Q&A session with fans on Instagram on Thursday, during which she confirmed her recovery was going well. Furthermore, she revealed she was hoping to return to tennis at the Canadian Open, which will take place from August 7 to August 13.
“I’m getting better. It’s a slow process because it’s a very delicate site. Catching a flight now to see the doctor so he can soon be back in competition. Montreal is my next destination if all goes well. Let’s go,” Badosa said in her Instagram stories.
