Not many matches have been completed on the second morning at Wimbledon with Jessica Pegula and Harriet Dart the leading names to seal dominant wins either side of the rain.

Pegula in particular was utterly dominant in her first match against Ashlyn Krueger. She produced 17 winners to nine unforced errors in winning 6-2, 6-0. She needed only 49 minutes to dismiss Krueger beating the rain which fell half an hour after she completed the win.

The American won her first grass court title in Berlin two weeks ago mere weeks after returning for the first time since April due to injury and has continued to make strides over the course of the grass court warm-ups. One of the WTA's most consistent players at her best, she will aim to find that form again.

She will next face either Wang Xinyu or Viktoriya Tomova. She won 86% of her first serve points and 71% behind her second serve. Dropping just seven points overall, she not only avoided facing any break points, she was not taken to deuce at all either. She hit five aces including one on match point. A statement win and sheer dominance at SW19.

She also made it 15 wins on the spin in the first round of Grand Slams going back to 2020 US Open. While she has yet to crack the latter end of a tournament, she certainly has shown up in the first few rounds throughout her career.

Harriet Dart will look to finally show her potential on the surface after easing past Zhuoxuan Bai. The World No.100 Brit is often lauded by the press despite not hitting the heights of Boulter or Raducanu. But she sent out a statement not to forget about her.

She eased through 6-4, 6-0 in just over an hour and will now face likely her compatriot Boulter who plays this afternoon. She takes on Tatjana Maria. The irony is that Pegula could be a third round opponent now for Dart or Boulter. Meaning that they finished both sides of the rain delays and currently it is the only tie with players through from today. Aside from Laura Siegemund who also booked her spot by seeing off Kateryna Baindl.
