Jessica Pegula is now 49-0 when winning the 1st set in 2023. She doesn’t miss. 🎯 🇺🇸❤️
Jessica Pegula may not be playing the Billie Jean King Cup, but it seems she will have some more tennis in the locker before the season comes to a close after the WTA Finals albeit for a good cause.
Pegula has been confirmed for the fourth annual edition of the Baha Mar Cup which is partnered with former ATP Doubles No.1, Mark Knowles.
Taking place between December 8-10 in the Bahamas, it also features James Blake, Victoria Azarenka and Taylor Townsend with Knowles also playing. It is set to raise funds for the Resort Foundation and Knowles' Children's Tennis initiative.
On the schedule includes a special Pro-Am tournament as amateurs face the pros followed by exhibition matches. It is a tournament which has raised over $200,000 for good causes and Pegula will join this year's line-up.
"We are proud to bring tennis’ biggest names to the Baha Mar Racquet Club. This event provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete with and against some of the world’s top tennis players in our signature pro-am tournament," said Graeme Davis, president of Baha Mar.
"While the players and the events are the best of the best, this is a very special initiative that supports the Bahamian community by funding youth tennis programs and facilities through the Baha Mar and Mark Knowles Foundations. We look forward to raising the bar, and even more funds, during this year's Baha Mar Cup to continue to benefit our community, culture, and conservation efforts."
