Alexander Zverev continues to play amid the 450,000 euro fine handed to him for allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend, Brenda Patea in Berlin in May 2020. A fine he dubbed as bulls**t after winning his second round at the Paris Masters.
Zverev has been accused of physically abusing a woman and damaging her health during an argument in the German capital over three years ago said a spokesperson on Tuesday.
He is contesting the fine, which was issued on October 2 and has applied for an objection. Until a final ruling is made, he is considered to be innocent but some fans believe that shouldn't be the case until the case is resolved.
He was also accused similarly by his ex girlfriend Olga Sharypova during his time in Shanghai, but he faced no action on the abuse claims by the ATP after a formal investigation was opened.
He will face Stefanos Tsitsipas on Thursday afternoon in Paris for a spot in the Quarter-Finals.
"I think it's complete bulls***," said world number nine, after his second-round victory in the Paris Masters.
