America’s young tennis player Alycia Parks’ story on her official
Instagram account attracted a lot of response from the fans.
The 22-year-old asked her fans about their goals for 2024
and revealed that her primary objectives for the next year will be to win a
Grand Slam and finish in the top 10.
That story attracted a lot of response and one fan ended up passing
an interesting comment stating: “The way I was thinking I was the most
delusional person on this planet.”
Parks is currently taking part in the WTA 125 event in
Midland where she has already booked her place in the quarterfinal after
beating France’s Carole Monnet in the round of 16 with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
She will now face Canada’s Katherine Sebov in the last-eight
clash of the tournament on Saturday.
The Atlanta-born will be hoping to go all the way and lift
the title which will give her a lot of boost after a disappointing year at the
highest level.
Parks played in the main round of three out of four Grand
Slams in 2023 but failed to qualify in the third round or beyond in any of the
competitions.
Her most impressive outing
came at Wimbledon where she was knocked out after losing the second-round tie
to Romania’s Ana Bogdan with a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
