Predictions Madrid Open WTA

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Aryna Sabalenka winning the title again.
Aryna Sabalenka has won this title multiple times and for me she will do it again, she has had some time off albeit again as ever with Sabalenka she spends more time being criticised for her social media use while not playing than playing as such as of late.
But Sabalenka will be refreshed and that is a dangerous prospect. For me I also see Elena Rybakina being up there and Jessica Pegula is always a threat. Amanda Anisimova too for me who has to hit form again at some point. She's too good not to.
Iga Swiatek for me won't be up there and will likely have teething problems with her new coach while Coco Gauff for me will also thrive as she often does when in reality there is in fact doubts in place.

Aryna Sabalenka to win the title again?
Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Rybakina reigning supreme.
The first WTA 1000 tournament of the year on clay is set to be a good one. Aryna Sabalenka comes into it as the reigning champion and the unstoppable force in women’s tennis, having seemingly banished her prior final woes with the Sunshine double. This will now be tested on clay with 1000 points on the line.
Surprisingly enough, Iga Swiatek has only clinched one title in Madrid. If she finds her best form on clay once more then she will be a very tough competitor to crack. However, her recent form leaves much to work on as she commences a new partnership with Francisco Roig.
Coco Gauff is another unpredictable one for me, similar to Swiatek. Last year’s runner-up needs results to avoid a sharp drop in the rankings. While not playing at her imperious best, she can still throw her name into the hat as a contender. Same for Elena Rybakina who has a better argument to challenge Sabalenka than the other forementioned names.
I can see this one being battled out between the top two in the world, but other players will look to crash the party. Mirra Andreeva has already tasted success on clay this year while fellow talent Victoria Mboko will look to continue imposing herself on the WTA Tour as her skills on clay are set to be tested. I think Jessica Pegula could also go on another deep run, in trend with her recent performances.
For the title, I am going to go against the form book and say Sabalenka does not reach the latter stages of the tournament, offering a path to glory for Rybakina in Madrid.
