Finishing with a flourish 🎭 🇵🇱 @iga_swiatek comes from a set down to defeat Garcia 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 and seal team Poland's spot in the final of the United Cup! #UnitedCup
Anchored by their leading duo of Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz, Poland are through to the final of the 2024 United Cup after seeing off France on Saturday.
Swiatek in particular shined against Caroline Garcia coming from a set down to breeze past the Frenchwoman 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. While heroic Hurkacz took down Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-5 to seal the deal and improve upon their result last year where they fell in the semi-finals. They face the winner of Germany-Australia with the former currently 1-0 up.

Garcia imposed herself early in the clashes and brought out errors in Swiatek's game. After saving early break points, her overpowering game led her to the only break of the set at 4-3. Swiatek saved a set point at 5-3, but this proved to be just merely stopping the inevitible.
But Swiatek got the grips with it an grabbed the momentum from there as she never faced a break point in the second set and eased into a 5-0 lead before claiming it on a third set point at 5-1. Swiatek took a break to love to set the tone in the final set and save two break points at 2-0, but was barely troubled from there and has led from the front all week alongside Hurkacz.
"I’m happy that I came back and I didn’t make so many mistakes as in the first set," Swiatek said on court, after her win. "For sure, Caro was putting pressure as usual, so I’m happy that we’re through to the final.”
“Sometimes it’s a bit hard to point [to] one thing that changed [after the first set]. I just feel like I needed to calm down a little bit and not rush it, and also observe the ball a little bit more, because I felt like I was sometimes off the timing. Maybe because we came from Perth, but for sure I needed some time to adjust, and I did that, so I’m happy.”
