For the first time since 2018,
Naomi Osaka will no longer ranked in the WTA Top 10.
Osaka's WTA Ranking took a dip this season as a result of taking time off from tennis, in addition to poor results during the US hardcourt summer series. The Japanese superstar now sits at World No.12 on the rankings table, as she has not competed since her third round loss at the 2021 US Open.
The four-time Grand Slam champion spent 140 consecutive weeks in the Top 10, beginning her run in September 2018, a week after her maiden Major title triumph at that year's US Open.
Osaka recently announced her withdrawal from the BNP Paribas Open
Indian Wells event, and has stated she is unsure of when she'll return to the court. This could lead to an even larger rankings drop, with the 23-year old set to defend her Australian Open title in Melbourne in January.
