Martina Navratilova has tipped Russian player Diana Shnaider as the next player to break through in a major way after some solid early performances in the year.
Shnaider played well to start the year and has been making a name for herself the old-fashioned way. She didn't have a major breakthrough performance so far with her rise slow but sure. The 18-year has already impressed Navratilova who picked her as the player likely to break through next.
She recently made her top 100 debut after a solids start to the year down under. She posted a 58-17 record last year.
Navratilova wrote on Twitter that fans should remember her name:
"This woman is motivated:), remember her name!"
