Naomi Osaka will begin her quest for an Olympic Games gold medal in the early hours of Saturday morning against Saisai Zheng.
But before that, she had the honour of lighting the Olympic cauldron at her home Olympic Games becoming the first tennis player to do so and as expected it was a huge honour.
"Undoubtedly the greatest athletic achievement and honor I will ever have in my life. I have no words to describe the feelings I have right now but I do know I am currently filled with gratefulness and thankfulness," she said on social media.
