Jelena Ostapenko keeps on getting wins at the Rome Open with her latest one coming after a 3-set battle with Daria Kasatkina who got a bagel as a parting gift in the final set.
Ostapenko produced a really great effort to win the match 6-4 4-6 6-0 and it's been going really well this week. Much better than Madrid last week as she's now in the quarter-final of the event and looking very dangerous. Kasatkina was up a break on Ostapenko twice in the opening set but she couldn't withstand losing it 4-6.
The second set was much better from Kasatkina as he took an early break from the Latvian and then held it for the rest of the set. She faced break points but was able to navigate her way out of that to win it 6-4. The final set wasn't that close as Ostapenko finally found her rhythm again and it was pretty much game over.
One early break and then another one and one more to close it out with a bagel demonstrating just how devastating her game can be if she hits all her shots. She's in the quarter-finals now and she can beat anyone on this surface if she keeps playing the way she played in this match. Look out for Ostapenko.
