Ons Jabeur has been one of the best clay players in recent years making the final at the
Rome Open last year however this year she's out in the second round at the hands of Badosa.
Jabeur has been playing a lacklustre season generally as she battled a few injuries. She suffered the last one in Stuttgart a few weeks ago making it unable for her to play at the Madrid Open last year. She won the trophy there so this stretch leading up to Roland Garros is not going very well for her so far.
This match was a continuation of that as the first set finished 6-1 for Badosa. Jabeur struggled to find a good rhythm and the Spaniard simply struck the ball much better initially and played with a lot of confidence. Much of the damage she did was on the second serve as Jabeur was unable to hit her serve and that's a big problem for her.
The second set saw her serve much better but once again it was Badosa who played better overall winning the set 6-4. Jabeur broke her twice in the set but she couldn't keep the Spaniard away from break points which resulted in the loss. Just not a good match overall from Jabeur as her struggles continue.
