The Roland Garros grand slam event has announced an increase in prize money as its set to rise from 49.6 million to 54.6 million USD which is a 12% increase from last year.
Not every event is struggling to sell tickets as Roland Garros is heavily visited every year. The event garners large crowds for much of the event and now they've announced an increase in prize money thanks to that after a few shaky years during the pandemic. The pandemic saw many events lower the prize money however now we're seeing the opposite trend.
The singles event will receive an increase of 9 % compared to last year while the doubles events will get an increase of 4 % compared to last year. Both the men's singles champion and the women's singles champion will get 2.3 million each.
