The Western & Southern Open has been temporarily suspended in support of racial equality.

The ATP, WTA and USTA released a joint statement regarding the pause in tournament play. This is in light of the recent unrest in the United States as cases of police brutality against minorities have risen over the last few weeks.
There will be no matches on Thursday, August 27 with play tentatively set to resume on Friday, August 28. The statement reads as follows:
"As a sport, tennis is collectively taking a stance against racial inequality and social injustice that once again has been thrust to the forefront in the United States. The USTA, ATP Tour, and WTA have decided to recognize this moment in time by pausing tournament play at the Western & Southern Open on Thursday, August 27. Play will resume on Friday, August 28."
