Elena Rybakina will head into her Wimbledon title defence having only played one tournament with the World No.3 withdrawing this morning from the
Eastbourne International.
Rybakina opened up pre tournament and said she wasn't back feeling 100% after spending most of her post Roland Garros in a hotel room with a virus.
As a result, she heads into Wimbledon fairly cold and without much match practice. She played the Bett1 Open Berlin last week but lost out early on to Donna Vekic.
This was a shock at the time but Vekic herself went on to reach the final losing out to Petra Kvitova in the end.
The likelihood is she will now recoup and head to Wimbledon to get some practice in despite it not being ideal preparation. Linda Fruhvirtova is also out with Barbora Krejcikova now top seed in Eastbourne.
Petra Martic and Tereza Martincova fill the vacant spots in the draw as a result as lucky losers.
