The WTA
will conclude its Asian tour with the
Jiangxi Open tournament in Nanchang,
China, scheduled to take place from October 28 - November 3, 2024.
This WTA
250 event will feature hardcourt action and mark the culmination of the
tournaments in China. The tournament sees the likes of Marie Bouzkova, Olga Danilovic and Jessica Bouzas Maneiro headlining.
The
tournament was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it
was also absent in 2022 amid concerns surrounding the disappearance of Peng
Shuai with Katerina Siniakova winning the title last year.
The total
prize money for the tournament is set at $267,082, with the champion set to
earn $35,250. In addition to the prize money, the champion will receive 280
points for the WTA ranking, which could be crucial in securing a favorable
position as the year comes to a close and preparations for the 2024 season
begin.
