The Western & Southern Open is set to begin on Thursday (20AUG) running through to next Friday (28AUG) but not in it's typical location of Cincinnati.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Western & Southern Open will move itself to Flushing Meadows to be part of a double header of action in New York with the US Open. We'll take a closer look at the
prize money and points distribution for this tournament.
Last year saw the prize money increase by over a million in the men's while the women received the same as the year prior.
As a result, in the men's, the winner claimed $1,114,225; while the runner-up gained $564,005. Semi-finalists $289,290 while Quarter-Finalists were on $149,100.
This year, the prize money division looks a bit different. Overall prize money saw a decrease and the winner will earn much less than the previous year. On the other hand, the players that will leave the tournament in the early rounds will get more money.
