Elena Rybakina is continuing to play really strong tennis as she downed
Karolina Muchova in three sets 7-6(4) 2-6 6-4 to advance at the Indian Wells Masters.
The first set proved to be a really tough one for both players as it was long and featured a lot of long rallies. It lasted 77 minutes and finished in the tiebreak which Rybakina won 7-4. Both players had set points in that set before the tiebreak. Muchova actually served for the set at 5-4 and had a set point she didn't use.
Rybakina had one at 6-5 in the first set but eventually, she got it done in the tiebreak. The second set featured much better play by Muchova who took an early 3-0 lead and never it go. She even added another one, later on, to close out the set 6-2 and it was an impressive comeback after she threw away the first set.
Rybakina was all over the place in that one but rallied well in the 3rd. Muchova struggled with her serve a lot in the final set as Rybakina finally found a really good one. The Australian Open finalist took an early break and had chances to extend it later twice but failed to do so. She even had match points at 5-3 but Muchova kept herself alive.
Despite starting the game 0-30 Rybakina remained composed and finished it off 6-4.
