Simona Halep smashes Kucova for US Open round 3

Halep arrived in New York without much playing time but so far the Romanian player has not been bothered by it. She started off this match in furious fashion taking an early break from Kucova however the Slovakian would break back later to make it 3-3.

That was the last notable thing Kucova did for the remainder of the match as Halep won the next three games to win the first set with 6-3. It was a good result especially since Halep struggled with her serving hitting less than 50%.

She admitted after her 1st round win that she practised serving while recovering and it showed in that match. In this one, it showed only in the 2nd set as she hit 74 % of her serves and that resulted in an even more dominating display.

Halep was blasting winners left and right and that ended the match fairly quickly with the final score being 6-3 6-1. A great display for Halep who is looking very strong in New York this year which is something her fans will love to see.
