Iga Swiatek has beaten Karolina Muchova again, as she did in the Roland Garros final. The world number 1 has won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in the third round of the
Canadian Open.
In a first set that could seem like a beating, we see a very misleading result. The games were hard fought but Swiatek imposed her experience in the important points to take it 6-1.
The second set was a constant exchange of breaks. Especially in the second half of the set as they went back and forth and back and forth.
After the first game of the third set, where Swiatek broke Muchova's serve, the match was stopped for several hours because of the rain, and it was thought that it would not be finished today and the rest of the tournament was in danger.
However, she played to the end and quadruple Grand Slam champion imposed herself. She held the break advantage until the end and closed with a service hold.
In the quarterfinals awaits American Danielle Collins, who is showing a tremendous level this week.
