Iga Swiatek has matched the incredible achievement of Naomi Osaka and Monika Seles after her Roland Garros triumph becoming a player who won all four of her first grand slam finals.
22-year-old Iga Swiatek is an incredible player who has been the top player in WTA tennis for over a year. It's a well-deserved rank because she won three grand slams during that time, two of which are Roland Garros trophies. She has now 3 trophies from Paris and once from New York for a total of four grand slams.
What's even more impressive is that she hasn't lost a single grand slam final so far. She's 4/4 winning all four she contested and that equalled an incredible achievement only done by Monika Seles and Naomi Osaka in the past. Those two players also won their first four grand slams so the list is only 3 players long showing how impressive the achievement is.
Winning a grand slam event is very hard but winning your first few means that you're an incredible player who managed to handle the pressure. It also didn't happen for Swiatek as she was pushed hard by Karolina Muchova. The Czech player was up a break twice in the final set but wasn't able to finish it off.
She might even improve on this impressive achievement if she wins her 5th grand slam final or 6th. It remains to be seen when it will come as grass doesn't seem likely. She's never been that great on it and there are some players who have a better game for grass. Hard courts could be an option so the US Open could be the place it happens. She won it last year and certainly is capable of doing so again. Time will tell if it will happen though.
