Maria Sharapova enjoyed almost 20 years on the WTA Tour as she managed to win 5 Grand Slam titles, the first one at Wimbledon in 2004.

Only 18-years-old Russian started her journey at the 2004 Wimbledon as 13th seeded. She lost only 11 games in the first 3 matches and didn't lose a set until her quarterfinal match. There Sharapova, who became the world no. 1 year later, faced Ai Sugiyama.
After losing the first set 5-7, Maria came back to win the match 5-7, 7-5 and 6-1. In the semifinals, Sharapova was down once again and needed a big comeback. Lindsay Davenport defeated her 6-2 in the first set and was close to booking the final spot in the second.
However, Sharapova fought back once again to book the spot in her first Grand Slam final after winning 2-6, 7-6(5), 6-1. In the final, she faced defending champion, Serena Williams. Masha showed one of her best performances in the final when she defeated Serena 6-1, 6-4 to capture her first Grand Slam title.
