In a new twist to the Cancun chaos, a bat flew onto the court halting the service motion of
Coco Gauff during her doubles match alongside
Jessica Pegula at the 2023
WTA Finals in Cancun.
A match that will be finished today saw a spooky aspect post Halloween as they faced Vera Zvonareva and Laura Siegemund at the WTA Finals. They secured the opening set comfortably, before the match was concluded for the time being due to rain.
While there has been uneven bounce, strong winds and delays, Gauff encountered a different kind of hindrance as a bat found its way onto the court.
The match was briefly paused as the animal enjoyed an extended period in the stadium and at one point flew extremely close to Gauff as it disrupted her service motion.
